Abstract

Communication between teachers and students plays an important role in the learning process. Nonverbal communication, which includes facial expressions, body movements, eye contact, and other gestures, has an important role in creating a positive relationship between teachers and students. Students' learning motivation is greatly influenced by the way teachers convey the subject matter, either through words or nonverbal actions that can add to the attraction or vice versa, make students less interested. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and data analysis through questionnaires distributed to students. The data obtained was analyzed to see how much the teacher's nonverbal communication had an effect on students' learning motivation. The results of the study showed that positive teacher nonverbal communication, such as attentive eye contact, friendly facial expressions, and supportive body movements, can increase students' motivation to learn. Conversely, negative nonverbal communication, such as a closed body attitude or unfriendly facial expressions, can lower students' motivation to learn. These findings show the importance of nonverbal communication skills for teachers in creating an effective and enjoyable learning environment. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference in improving the quality of teaching in schools
