PERAN PODCAST DALAM MATA KULIAH LISTENING

Abstract

The use of podcasts in the context of listening instruction has garnered increasing attention in language education literature. This study aims to investigate the role of podcasts in enhancing students' listening proficiency in a listening course. Employing a qualitative approach, the research involved student surveys, podcast content analysis, and classroom observations to gain a comprehensive understanding of the impact of podcast use in the context of listening instruction. The findings indicate that podcasts provide significant benefits in developing students' listening skills, including enhanced listening comprehension, vocabulary development, and strengthening of inferential skills. Additionally, the findings also highlight the importance of content variety in podcasts, the use of interactive learning techniques, and the integration of podcasts with in-class activities to support a more holistic learning experience. Practical and pedagogical implications of these findings are discussed in the context of curriculum development and innovative teaching approaches. Thus, this research not only provides deep insights into the effectiveness of podcasts in listening instruction but also contributes to our understanding of technology-enhanced learning design for language skill development.
